An interesting concept- the life of a man through food/the foods that make up a man. Unfortunately it was a bit too boring to be good. The prose was excessively ornate, to a fault. And the character was quite unlikable. I wouldn’t reread this book. Quite a disappointment compared to The Elegance of the Hedgehog
