Is it trauma porn? Yes. Is it engagingly written? Also yes. A huge downside of the plot is that the whole “plot twist” relies largely on whether the reader knows the riddle. I did, so after reading one third of the book, I knew the ending. Still, the atmosphere and the writing style did it for me, so no regrets here.
