When Colette goes off on one of her tirades about cats, I kind of don't give a fuck.

Colette writes of exile, loneliness, and longing so well. She really is the GOAT.

Just finished Sido. Was everyone in her family a giant dickhead to Juliette, or....?

I love Colette's writing, but there's something so tedious about it sometimes.

"Trop tard, trop tard...C'est le mot des négligents, des enfants et des ingrats." (41)

This is most likely a confusing and really difficult read for someone who's not familiar with Colette's work. However, if you're reading this supplementally to her fiction, a lot of her philosophy and style can be traced back to her relationship with her mother.
