I'm really reading this for the necromancy and for Xerxes' costume but wow Afroditi Angelopoulou was not kidding about the materiality of Persian bodies and the Greek terrain. need to think more about what it means to conceive of Persian manpower as fabric that can be ripped and torn and dyed red.
