So often I peruse the studio, complimenting students on forms, textures, and glaze combinations, to have them respond with some sort of comment pointing out a flaw within their pieces…. The rim is wobbly, the glaze crawled.. I am glad to have verbiage to refute their negative thoughts, and point out how special those “flaws” actually are. For an object made by one’s hand, has inherent beauty.
