The Abair Incident kind of kicks off a new rash of sightings and encounters in the area as it seemingly fed on corn nearby and there weren’t samples taken from 4 scat piles. Now I gotta watch Beast of Whitehall to get a better picture of the surroundings. There are many auditory encounters and I wonder what the maniacal laugh sounded like that scared so many nearby.

The final chapter has the cliche debate over what Bigfoot may be. Again laden w/ typos. But as a 1992 book, there are dated but still good arguments made for and against a dozen+ hypotheses. I’m getting very drained by this book though and am glad to have finished. Very repetitive and while informative for those in the NE, I can’t relate much, but I’ve learned more than I knew before.

The Vermont sightings in chapter 7 seem to show equally elusive and bold squatches that’ll hide quickly or just nonchalantly walk along roads almost getting clipped by cars. I feel such reports are by bandwagoners. The book is really starting to show more typos and the final article on mountain lions being reprinted has numerous that only could’ve happened through authors retyping them.

The Kinderhook Creature, dubbed by tv show PM Magazine, seems to have been experienced by the authors and their family. The photos of the cast from ‘81 look human. They’re starting to see white orbs floating around and footprints ending into nothingness. STM’s docs have helped show the region off but I’m curious about the mostly audible stuff and their lack of recordings. Convenient times to stop vocalizing.

A very good change of pace away from the PNW and the authors establish a long history, 380+ years, of reports through journals and newspaper articles. Slippryskin is such a cool name for the creature. That poor black man living in the woods getting gunned down at the end of chapter 1. No one knew his name.
