I stand by my previous critique, but once Carr gets rolling, nothing is quite as fun as his books.

Story is good so far, but I forgot how clunky Carr’s writing can be at times. Very wordy. Sometimes advantageous but generally a hindrance to me. Also, his novels tend to have a plug and play ad-lib style about them. Entertaining but not always the greatest writing.
