This biography is so extremely well written. I feel immersed in the tension of the church struggle in the Second World War, and love how Metaxas tells the story in a captivating way, including both historical timeline facts and Bonhoeffer’s personal theological journey and beliefs, including powerful quotes and many segments of letters.

Have you ever been asked the question, “if you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?” Besides Jesus of course, I would hands down say Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I am just so continually inspired by his life, his integrity, his testimony, and the way that he lived. I wanna meet this guy!!!
