Nothing the main character does in this book feels earned. Everything just seems to happen to her for the story to progress.
All of her realizations are by convienant chance or told to her by some random info dump. It’s very frustrating.
Also not to mention, I liked her relationship with her ex husband but there fight in France made no sense?? And also if he was never in the book there would be no difference.

I guess what annoys me is how one dimensional the main character seems.
I love the section where we go back in time and over hear Eleanor’s memoir.
I am also annoyed by Luca and the main characters relationship.

Maybe I’m being a bitch but gosh the main character annoys the hell out of me sometimes.
Just some of her reactions to her family leaving/not talking about their time growing up in another country I found kinda frustrating…. And naive for a seemingly 30 year old women.
Not to mention her running away from the bookstore cause she saw a picture of a yeti…. Like girl
