just finished the first short story and i think that this book will help me get over my aversion from shorts. i never loved short stories because there’s just so much limited time to really develop into something big; however, this baldwin short was able to say a good amount while keeping me satisfied. roy getting injured let me know the family dynamics exactly and made the last page hit so wonderfully.

the man child story has me wondering is jamie’s whole plan just to kill the whole family?? and not only this but was the father in on the plan?? what were they doing when jamie was over at the house why eric’s mother was in the hospital?? a few questions that need to be answered but lovely story.
