The first few chapters are so over described I felt I was fighting the author over the use of my imagination e.g., “Everything there curved—the rain-shielding roofs, the light-giving windows, the bridges running between like jewelry.”
Other than making what should have been magical mundane, I feel like the pretty jewelry part that felt true to the curves trying to be shown was late, and I was a little bored by then.
