Who is the Copt? He speaks like Jesus. Parables, answering questions from a large crowd. But his lessons are not so Christlike. "Stand up for yourself" not "turn the other cheek." Book shifted from meta-author's voice to manuscript author's voice to Copt's voice. Setting is Jerusalem, 1099, where Jews, Christians, and Muslims live in peace. Under siege by French.
