Inez and Whit are about to part ways in more ways than one, Elvira is missing (possibly having gone after her cousin Inez), and our poor girl can hardly trust anyone. I think I'm at... ch. 30? But what is this special parchment that many others are after? Welp, it's onto part 4.

As the story continues, I'm losing track of what the chapter numbers translate into English. In any case, or heroin appears to be between a rock and a hard place. But surprising things have happened, and a lot of them! I'm honestly a little surprised that no one ever tried to get that ring back, but now it almost seems like a drop in the bucket compared to everything else.

And we're introduced to more characters; Mr. Fincastle, his daughter Isadora, Abdullah, his granddaughter Farida and possible others. Sidenote, a lot of the food looks pretty good! In any case, it's on to part 3.

And so the journey begins... with Inez as a stowaway sailor, known only by the captain of the Elephantine, Kareem. How long will it take for her uncle Ricardo to recognize her? Or Mr. Hayes? Or anyone else? And is Ricardo really as guilty as Cayo and Loudres Olivera thought him to be? I have many questions. Sidenote, the brief POV switches to Hayes' view are really well done!

Okay, the chapters, prologue and epilogue are all titled in Spanish. And it seems Inez Oliveria is working under a different name and story to those who don't know her. Whitford Hayes seems to want nothing to do with her, and sadly, neither does her uncle. Back in the present, there is a lot going on, of people trying to exploit Egypt's riches however they can. But where is Basil Sterling now?
