4 stars - Despite having been published more than 70 years ago, the writing feels incredibly fresh. The story has light-hearted and moving, but also frightening moments. However, it occasionally drags, which is why it wasn’t a 5-star experience for me. Especially the journey of the four hobbits to Rivendell was painfully slow.
