Chapter 12s analogy of our psyche being treated as a precious house built to protect us from with in. The foundations being our thoughts and emotions, the system that forbids anything that allows fear to creep in. The system that works in overdrive to find solutions. The system of limits and restrictions is an interesting one. We work so hard to protect ourselves we forget to leave a window open to the uncertainty.

This book is such a slow read. But not because it’s boring, no not at all. It’s because it touches on that mutually shared experience of life. Of problems, of pain and more importantly fear. It talks about whether you decide to live life to accommodate your thorns and leave them unprovoked. But also facing the consequence of doing that. It takes you from living in fear to living in self and reassurance.
