i was expecting her to have a rough past, but i was hoping that the abuse from her father was just violent and not sexual. This book is very intense and Rachel's character is too. Also her mother. Their experience is very sad, but it is important to have that representation in books.
Shane's character was so well written. I think the main couple match great.
