Done. In a lot of movie adaptations of Dracula the title character has an obsession with a human woman and I was wondering where that came from since it sure as hell ain’t from the book. Aha! Found it! All those movies are actually using elements from Carmilla. I liked the pacing and the vampire lore at the end. This was better than Dracula as it doesn’t drag and ends right when it should.

I read Dracula for the first time last year and so it’s time for me to read the book that inspired Dracula. There’s a recount of a very creepy encounter the narrator had when she was a child in the first chapter and I’m sold! I think this is going to be one of those books that surprise me.
