Thats why King is good at what he does. Norman is my favorite King villain. Not for what he does but how he is written. Truly frightening. The human condition and what we are capable of at its worst. It took me years to finish Rose Madder. It was that one book I kept pushing away. Its in my top 5 for a reason. I normally tell people to read this as a palate cleanser. When people think King is just strictly horror. I tell them to read this. It is an introduction to what true horror is. Not "It" some clown boogieman. Not "Pet Semetery" a beautiful take on grief. Rose Madder is true unforgiving horror. A man who simply wants to talk to you up close.

Oh, I love this! Yeah, to me his most "human" work is the true horror. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I am also reading It so it is a nice contrast to see the different types of King's work.

Yes keep pushing through it. Its hard at first but its really worth it as crazy as it sounds. I will send you a few more King recommendations. The ones that sometimes get passed over because they are not "horror" 😂😂😂.
