This was such a delightful read! It toggles between 2 stories connected from Ancient China and Chinatown, NYC. Beautiful themes of family, compassion, perseverance, and heritage. It reminds me a lot of A Long Walk to Water. The author, Karina Yan Glaser, is the same writer of the wonderful Vanderbeekers series that our family loves.
