There were Riverera's caricatures and twisted holograms across the tunnel. As Molly arrived at the entrance of 3Jane's world. As Case jacked into the Matrix again, he flipped in and out with the Sim-stim. The Chinese program was making good progress against the T-A cores. A brownish dot appeared against the green wall of the cores. It started walking towards Case and Flatline. It was Wintermute; it evinced that the rewards would be waiting for all of them once they finished their mission.

When he ended up in the lounge in front of the bridge. He found out the bridge was an escape pod. And Corto was about to launch himself back into space in his madness.

That rendered Armitage unstable, Corto was resurfacing under the mask of Armitage, breaking through. After another lapse with Molly traversing the Straylight. Armitage was in a bloody state, as shown on the tug's monitor.

It was a clone of Ashford's daughter. After she had a glance around. She ended Ashford's misery by injecting a toxin dart through the centre of his closed left eyelid.

An old man came out, pointed the muzzle of a black pistol at her, and told her to come into the room. The old man was Ashford. He was slowly killing himself by drinking and consuming drugs. He acknowledged that he knew the intelligences were going mad.

The thing's a ceremonial terminal; Wintermute needed Molly in there with the right word at the right time. Case and Flatline will have to learn the word when they scrambled the cores.
