Am I the only one who thinks Gabaldon threw everything at the wall to see what would stick on this one? Let's see: printer's fires, hidden treasure, bigamy, Chinamen, pirates, kidnapping, sea adventure... I'm just saying, as soon as the reunion happens, it's as though the author realizes Oh crap, out of story. And then she over-compensates. What a disappointment.
