Man I have so many thoughts, but ultimately it’s that kind of book where at first beautiful wording makes you forget how deeply wrong its elements are - and when your commons sense returns it’s like EWEWWWWWWW
Also it’s just so insufferable now I’m struggling to finish it

I think I would be less in awe of clever sentences like “it’s was a thousand or so yen distance” if I had a reliable author capable of crafting them in my repertoire. I don’t. Hence, Murakami, who is a creep, let’s be honest
