Maybe it’s not as jarring to other people as it is to me but after reading the first two books and Assassin’s Blade, the inclusion of the Fae and magic and witches seems very sudden and like it’s taking over. I’m going to keep reading of course but it just feels odd to me. I’ve read three books about a human assassin making her way through life and here’s a blind left turn to Fae-town!

I agree, although I feel if she were a veteran novelist she would have laid more foreshadowing and groundwork so it doesn't seem like it's out of left field. For a 16yo, she did pretty good.

I can agree with that. I wonder if having read ACOTAR and Crescent City first has made these books a little underwhelming for me. I’m enjoying them just had to get used to where we were. And the jumping back and forth between the witches and the fae is a little jarring. I’ve read other books like that though. I’ll be interested to see everything connected.
