Just reinforces my suspicion that i love Whites writing. Kind of exactly my book. Referencing different public figures, famous flaneurs, writers and cultural figures all whilst telling the story of Paris as a cultural mecha. Perhaps i do wish it was a little bit more about the actual idea of the flaneur and the experience of mindless wondering but still i truly cant complain.

Yearning for a bit more flaneuring but honestly this cultural history of France and specifically paris is both fascinating and wildly impressive. Especially enjoyed the insight into Paris and its relation to homosexuality, Aids and the public perception of individualistic identity
