I do want to read what happens next, and I liked the academia / low fantasy elements more than I thought I would. It was a fun read but not exceptionally written, with lots of family themes and ideas that I really relate to right now - especially also being 22 and doing the whole uni thing and finding who I am. Keen to see what occurs but so pissed at the cliffhangers

Without stating which things I wrote are correct and not, I have infact done it again and successfully predicted many a thing. But some I haven’t because WE DONT HAVE ANSWERS YET. Cliffhanger central man. Not obsessed with the lovers aspect, a lot of the dialogue was clunky to say the least, not a perfect author. But the plot had me hooked -

Marcus sus maybe also wdym some friends the heck? Also the book is almost done and I fear it’ll all be a cliffhanger I’m so pissed OFF

I’m sorry but the most un-natural line just occurred in the middle of a sexy scene that has sent me over the edge with cringe it’s taken me so out of the immersion who put that in there why is it so funny no one would say that 💀

Like even tho her friend group all has affinities we didn’t know what they were til later so that was good. Not enough tension and real like connection in their personalities for the MMC n FMC like you think he’s hot and powerful and you’re all lusty that’s it tho like he’s not funny or necessarily interesting yet? Give us moreeee

Ok some of the wording is borderline for me - why are we using the word pu$$y and why is your nickname precious like it’s all making me squeamish. But the low fantasy modern language is kind of funny and makes it feel more idk “real?” Like she just said she’s crashing out hahaha. I want a better explanation of the magic system tho plssss give me more lore! Also she’s not just info dumping now which is great

Ok Belle is sus- did she get Annabeth taken out, she’s way too nice, she maybe slipped about the covenant convo w her dad and he’d be super powerful and give her a boost as an elder?? Also surely gran’s letters say important stuff- the author said “surely there’s nothing important in there” girl SURELY that is foreshadowing??? I’m keeping an eye on what she says. Her obvi affin could be a cover up 2??

I’ve had a thought - could it be Paisley doing the monsters the whole time with her crystal power from her gran?? Makes sense she’s different to others and has this niche and her gran was all about it and they thought the student had powers from a parent or something helping idk. I hope they come into it either way! Like maybe while she was sleeping it happens? Idkkk

Only thing is the whole “enemies to lovers” ehhh this guy seems to be so uninterested and also chill with you. You’ve never hated him also - feared yes, but you think he’s hot and are immediately jealous? Ehhh not my fav love story if it is supposed to become that. I’m getting more comfy with the writing style and enjoying more- it’s not exceptional but it’s as good as a comfort teen tv show yk?

I keep trying to pay attention to who could be the dark magic person, usually these sorts of books have a twist where it’s the best friend or something. I am wondering lots! Who could it be, why does only Paisley feel the monster tingle, what did Logan discover about her, obvi what’s her affinity gonna be etc. There’s plenty to discover and I’m still in the dark so keen to be shooketh!
