This isn’t a theological work, so I was pleasantly surprised on the thoughtful study of how extroversion has affected the evangelical church’s teaching on what it means to be a Christian. Where introversion is interpreted as weakness (especially in men), a higher premium will be given to “charismatic leadership” even if other character qualities are lacking.

Alex I loved this book! I learned so much and felt so validated.

Janae I’m enjoying it too. I want more than one chapter on how it affects the church. She didn’t make the correlation , but I wonder if this is part of why certain charismatic leaders gain such large influence despite the way they treat people, especially in larger congregations.

Kelly I really enjoyed this book! It felt like being heard.
