i don’t like what he’s doing with the colors. there’s way too many and i find that it needlessly convolutes the story. i feel like the theme or thesis of the book could still work if the colors represented socioeconomic classes rather than professions and societal roles. red is low low class, gold is high high class. so why are pinks sexworkers and purples are artists and browns are bodyguards or whatever??
