I DNF’d. I wanted to like it but a vampire saying suss just isn’t something that I liked. It felt too modern for me and I couldn’t make it past one more “clenched my thighs.” If you’re into modern vampire, fated mates, and crime this would be up your alley.

Based off them making a reel about me, I’m changing my review. My goal in 2026 was to post more reviews, and I’m a little out of depth with this. Apparently this is a whole genre, which I didn’t know and won’t be reading in the future as it’s not for me 😂 it’s called urban fantasy! I’m changing my review from 2 to 4 stars as just because it’s not my thing, doesn’t mean I should negatively impact an author’s review rating due to it. I just wanted to post my review, as I think it might be helpful for others who don’t know about this genre and picked up the book assuming it was something else. Thanks to the authors and fellow book fans who poked fun at the situation and helped open my eyes that not everything needs a review, especially if it’s not a genre or trope that checks your box!
