It’s so interesting how so much of this is still relevant today despite it being written so long ago.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately to front only the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn what it had to teach and not when I came to die discover that I had not lived” - love this quote I believe Into the Wild uses it also

This feels like a book I’ll have to reread to fully understand.

It’s interesting he seems to praise the Indians construction of their teepees and construction in general but still refers to them as savages. He points at the disadvantages of civilization and having to pay for so many commodities and amenities but still places the “civilized” over the “savage” when he seems to point at many ways the Indians live superiorly with less and less expensively.
