⏳Chapter 3 Ongoing. Done up to the section about clothes. Author is now presenting the recommended specific ways to handle items when tidying up. The respect and regard for the items we own sound animistic, a belief foundational to Japan's Shintoism and is portrayed even in modern films like Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away. The way the tips are written also reminded me of The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi

✅ Chapter 2. It has become apparent that the book offers both practical and philosophical insights. I find more benefit in reading it as I do it with focus and introspection. I haven't even started tidying up yet but reading the book has been a mindful and reflective experience.

Chapter 1 done, takeaways: I enjoy testing ideas and will definitely try the methods suggested here. I like the part about decluttering by category and how this gives us a whole and better picture of how much stuff we own.
