- there was something on the ocean's edge that made my marrow freeze
- a north pacific drilling barge split right down its spleen / was billowing fire and sooty smoke and coming straight for me
- u gambled with a chaos / whose cards u thought u knew / u won a hundred million tonnes / but now it seems u lose!

i love the mix of mythical/historical references - thor, poseidon, al-jazari

- its body burst upon the deck; its death seemed no great loss, it looked as old as time itself (i love how this seemed to have ended at the third line for impact and then comes back to finish it with); it was just an albatross
- "the fishermen all stared at me and spoke in ancient tongue; archaic and foreboding words berated what i'd done" - the callback!
