This book is unusual and raw. While I feel glad to know certain things appear to be true (like the majority of our jails are filled with guilty people and that our justice system gets it right more than it gets it wrong) it is painful and eye-opening to read the truth about prison life. I think many of these people endure/d a level of trauma and abuse that regular people cannot fathom.

Parts of these stories are highly disturbing
