i’ve noticed how Alice constantly makes excuses for her husbands behaviour out of fear of losing him entirely, yet she states she doesn’t even recognises him.

I love the pace so so much- very easy to follow but it is also the perfect speed for growing attached to Alice and have sympathy for her so early into the book!
