Okay I understand that the quotes are to show history from firsthand accounts and to get readers to look at it differently and empathize with the people. But it's still hard to get through each chapter 😭

Chapter 9 was so rough to get through. I personally think Zinn should use less quotes, especially in chapter 9, because it takes up at least half of his writing.
