At first this was a very difficult read to get into, contrary to The Bluest Eye I read of hers right before this. Then, I discovered this was the third opus of a trilogy and I understood why I was so lost in this different style. Then, I got caught in how absolutely enthralling and soul sucking this book is. Every single character is so deeply ALIVE.
