This is brutal and a bit uncomfortable to read, and probably one of the reasons they never seem to stock Philip Roth books in the library . It feels very important. Having read his compassionate books, like The Plot Against America, I think you have to trust what he’s doing with stuff like this, ie truthfully analysing human sexual behaviour .
