It's so weird to me that so many people dislike this book. We love it. Is it the storytelling style??

My kids are on the floor laughing over these, but it does take a certain humor to get into it. I think the storytelling is fine, but it's the events that happen in such a short amount of time.that get me. I will say, though, that narration is always poorest with this book. I don't know if it's their ages (6.5 and 5) but my kids narrate this book the poorest, so, maybe it IS the storytelling?
