Trilogy of short stories about the same person, which is nice, bc many of the same names are mentioned throughout the book, but nice to invest in a long couple chapters to this one narrative

“We will never have real progress without purposeful violence.” Which is also what the last quote basically said as well at the end… this book is so interesting

Every time it doesn’t make sense the whole time it makes sense in the final sentence it’s crazy

Phew that was a tough one

“Hip hop never becomes materialistic and commercial, and continues as Black America’s CNN, putting knowledge on the street, building the political consciousness of a generation to a fever pitch, creating an army of hiphopified people who invade the tables of power.”

These last 2 short stories have been very interesting and heart warming… one about a little child watching his dad walk out of the house w rhythm in his step and wondering if he’s gonna come home. He doesn’t come home before he goes to bed that night but his dad wakes him up with kisses the next morning. Brought tears to my eyes. So awesome.

Loved this last short story… wow so many great analogies
