Reread some of this. My bookmark had come out. Little Anne is so intelligent and well written. Yet she is pronounced as an ignoramus by her family. Not so. She is very intuitive and observant. What a position to be put in…hiding away with this other family and not being able to go outside for fear of being shot.

Anne is describing the relationships and conflicts between herself, her mother, Peter, Margot, and Mrs van Daan. Her father is her soulmate. I think having the diary to write in is really helping her to survive the isolation.
