This took a swerve to a time travel, steampunk horror storyline. Well written but I’m not sure I’m here for it. Not interested in any of those tropes.

Will probably finish the other books at some point. Not rushing though. The police reaction to a missing child is a real stumbling block for me. There is suspending disbelief when reading, but come on.
