Just finished the novel... 1.5 stars out of 5 rounded down. The flat and stereotypical discussions of gender, sex, race. The self important tone and voice from *every* character. The overly sexual descriptions of women and their bodies for no textually significant reason. Even the mystery, which is the driving force in this novel, is rendered hollow and unanswered. Is this book a satire? Is it trying to be?
