The book is quite average and largely unremarkable. Tove’s life in a Scandinavian (Danish) setting, along with her fleeting relationships and constant sense of escape, feels repetitive rather than revealing. There’s no prejudice in this view—just a lack of anything truly surprising or curiosity-provoking.
