Oh, this resonates.

“Flurries of drizzle swirled through the trees like plastic bags in the wind and Ingvar hurried toward the buttress of rock that jutted from the slope”.

I speed read most of the time. And skim boring passages where I infer meaning but that’s about it.
This is a slow read I am savouring and rereading passages because it is so evocative. That’s how good it has been so far.

Wow.
I don’t often stop on page one & think this is some of the most wonderful prose I have ever read.
And reread it.
Doesn’t augur well. How are the other 314 pages going to top this?
