I had to pause this book. It’s too dark. It’s pain and grief too recognizable for me to read in the depths of winter. Tulips was extraordinary. I have never read her poetry before and it is creepy and elegant, disturbing and morose. It is all too real too sharp too truthful- lines like “Their smiles catch onto my skin, little smiling hooks”
