The humor is definitely there. Granted, I've only ever made it to the introduction of Queequeg.

Certainly Queequeg's introduction, but also things like waxing poetic about the cold, and how it causes him to stub his toe on the ice. Mentioning a quote about the sea from an auspicious author, but not to bother trying to look it up, as he conveniently has the only extant copy
