This is the book I chose for my own 50 state challenge as part of the 250th birthday of the U.S. Oklahoma joined the union in 1907. This book is set in pre statehood Oklahoma and is loosely based on the life of William Holland Thomas, the only white man to serve as a principal chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. It remains to be seen whether I finish it.
