Alia and Hayt investigate the remains of a woman’s body in the desert outside Arrakeen. They both have a deep conversation while returning to the city via ‘thopter, Alia trying to decipher anything she can from Hayt. They arrive at base, Hayt steels a kiss from Alia, and supports her suspicions of the Face Dancers.

Chapter 9 ends on Paul ordering Stilgar & Korba to raise Chani and slay the hidden Sardukar amongst pilgrims in Arrakeen.

Ch:9 Edric, Paul, Stilgar, and Scytale have a brief discussion, pressing one-another in conversation. Paul summons Korba to give Stilgard records of Earth’s history and conquerors for education. Being upfront about his role in mass genocide across the stars. This chapter is conversational gas.

Ch 8: 110 - 124

Alia stressed about prophet life. Goes 0-100 battling a fencing robot, enough that Paul and Stilgar respond in frustration to the level of danger her swordplay exhumes. The thee of them the discuss preparing for an upcoming struggle against the Guild.

Moheim is jailed under Arrakeen. Irulan visits and talks further conspiracy with her teacher. Realizing they may sacrifice her for gain.

Ch 6: Paul and Stilgar meet Edric (Steersman) and receive Hayt (Idaho’s ghola) as an Imperial gift. Paul is empathetic to their existence and Aria note’s caution moving forward.
