I’m only a few pages in because I started this late last night, but I already really like the narrator’s voice.
When I think about magical realism, I think of Gabriel García Márquez and Salman Rushdie.
Well a couple years ago, I read Márquez’s 100 Years of Solitude, and it was a slog; I was dreading reading this one fearing it would be the same. But already I like the tone more. Could change but hope not.
