Just completed the Dilemma Meditation at 2hr 21mins into the audiobook. Found this one particularly good to search inside of myself and see what my “parts” had to say about something I was pondering. Think this seems like a good way to listen to intuition and come to a wise decision.

After some spiritual talk about connecting with the earth, which I actually appreciated, was the daily meditation which I just completed. In this I briefly met a new part, “heartbreak” and started crying. I’m finding these meditations to be really powerful and already feel a deeper connection and empathy to myself.

The working with a challenging protector meditation was a little harder, as I don’t really know these parts yet I think. But maybe this would be good when I feel intense emotions like anger.

Gutted I only have 6 days left to finish this. It’s such a good concept and I think it will be really helpful to me. Considering buying the workbook.

This section is a transcript from a session the author had with a client, where there was a breakthrough. As a person interested in learning to be a counsellor this was interesting to hear, how the author guides like they would a hypnosis. I’d love to have a session like this with a therapist, but hope that through this book I can do some of the work myself.

As I’m reading more of this, I’m wishing that I owned it rather than having to return to the library in a week. It feels like a book you need to really take your time with and to return to occasionally. The meditations are certainly ones I’d like to have access to.

Just completed the blending meditation, after feeling unsettled and trying to make a healthy choice. This meditation was the next in the book and happened to be great, I reconvened with a few parts I haven’t been able to name previously (when I’ve meditated in the past) and met a new one too. Felt that I learnt about myself a bit. This book/system is great so far.

Just completed the second meditation on mapping your parts. Really glad the author reads these parts as his voice is very warm and soothing. I found it interesting to consider meeting three parts and how they might be relating to eachother and me. I’m trying to take this in stages and unsure how to go about getting the most from this book and practice.

Completed the first meditation included in the audiobook and felt like I met one of my parts (cyclone)! Felt this was a good way to connect to myself.

Been learning about how internal family systems came about, much of which I already know at this point but it’s inspiring to view if from a lens of how love can be healing - like we would want to meat a wounded child with care and compassion, that is how we can meet ourselves, and through that we can become more loving people. That’s my view anyway…
