this book is a snooze

let’s talk about s*x real quick:

the steamy scenes in HR worked so well bc they functioned as a storytelling device. they communicated something that non-steamy scenes could not, or they were an extension of those scenes. those scenes didn’t feel flippant or unimportant. the story would be fundamentally changed without them. in TLG, it feels like RR is just throwing them in for the sake of doing so :/
